@upgraydd Sometimes I'll start with a midtone base color, then add shadows and highlights.
@upgraydd Other times, I lay down the darkest color on the surface (darkest shadow), and build up lighter from there.
@upgraydd That's what I did here. I initially covered the skull in that orangy-brown. Pretty dark.
@upgraydd Then I added a layer of midtone yellow-orange over that. And finally added that bright tan over that to give it a boney look.
@upgraydd Maybe you have a similar method.
@upgraydd I used the spay paint/airbrush for the yellow-orange, and used pencil on a fairly wide setting for the light tan.
